Having been at Bambers Green Riding Centre since the late 1980's, in June 2013 the group was told that they had to leave Bambers Green Riding Centre as it was due to close
In October 2013 Maple Pollard kindly accepted the group and gave Riot a new home.
Other funding comes from kind donations from charities like the local Rotary Club, which has help by items such as new hats.
We are a smallish group, with 2 dozen volunteers, operating 1 morning a week, term time. We provide lessons for a group of individual riders & then a local school group, where the classes rotate each term, allowing as many children as possible to benefit.
As a group we own one horse of our own - our little gem, Riot. He puts up with so much & has the patience of a saint. He lives at Maple Pollard as a working livery to earn his keep, which means he works hard all week long. Other ponies that we use on a regular basis belong to the Riding School. Riot is also used for riding lessons during the week and at weekends by Maple Pollard where he has found a firm fan base.
And I must admit I've had many lovely rides out around the countryside with him. He may have his silly moment but he always looks after me.
